1. I have not received a confirmation letter, what should I do?

Your registration should be processed by end of the next business day. If you do not receive a confirmation letter from us within 2 days, contact history.registration@achillesmedia.com

 

2. I've registered for History 2006, but I can no longer attend. Can I send someone else in my place?

Yes, all registrations are transferable to another delegate, subject to a transfer fee of $50 CDN. Make transfer requests in writing by fax to 403-678-3357 or email to history.registration@achillesmedia.com. Our Transfer Policy is available here.

 

3. I've registered for History 2006, but can no longer attend. Can I get a refund and how?

It depends on your registration type: Early Bird and Independent Early Bird Rates are NON-REFUNDABLE, no exceptions. ONLY Congress Rate registrations are refundable. All cancellation & refund requests must be made in writing no later than November 2, 2006. by fax to 403-678-3357 or email to history.registration@achillesmedia.com. A cancellation fee of $100 CDN will be deducted from your registration refund.

 

4. Can I purchase a registration on-site?

Yes, the Congress Rate is available on-site, payable by credit card or cash ONLY. The Registration Desk is in the lobby of the Radisson Portman SAS Conference Centre, 22 Portman Square, London W1H7BG.

5. Can I bring a guest to a social event?

Your registration allows you to buy a ticket to each official social event for a guest (your admission is paid by your registration fee). These are not available in advance of the event. They will be sold on-site only, at the Registration Desk.

 

6. What do I wear to social events?

Dress for all evening events is business attire.

 

7. Do I need to bring my badge to social events?

Your badge is your ticket and without it you may be refused entry to the social events. Likewise, guests must bring their tickets. Social events are reserved for registered delegates and their guests only.

 

8. I need to have something sent to me in London, how do I do this?

Please ensure that all mail, courier packages, and faxes are sent directly to your hotel, to your personal attention. The World Congress of History Producers does not provide this service.

 

9. I need to change my hotel dates. How do I do this?

Contact the hotel directly; please be aware of the hotel policies and charges regarding changes and cancellation.

 

10. What is the weather like in London in November?

Bring warm clothes and a good coat. Layers work, and, of course, don’t forget your brolly! Average High: 50°F (10°C) Average Low: 41°F (5°C) Average daily sunshine of 1.75 hours. This can be the wettest month of the year.

 

11. What business services are offered at the Congress?

The hotel has a full service business centre with secretarial services.

 

12. Is there Internet access at the Congress?

All registered guests of the host hotel, Radisson SAS Portman, have complimentary high speed wireless internet access, both in their rooms and in public areas.

Otherwise, wireless access may be purchased using a credit card or vouchers for £6.00 for one hour and £14.00 for the day. Contact the hotel front desk for this service.

 

13. Can I claim a VAT refund?

14. Is there a delegate list available?

A printed Delegate List is available at the Congress. It will include the names of everyone who registered prior to Tuesday, November 14, 2006. Registered delegates are able to access full contact details in the secure delegates’ area.

 

15. What is the Video Screening Library?

The Video Screening Library is your opportunity to showcase the best current and classic history programming that your company has created. It is a resource: speakers can supply the complete production of exemplars used in seminars. You, the delegates, will determine the quantity and quality of the collection by what you choose to share with your colleagues. Any library is only as good as its contents, so we urge you to contribute.

In September, a form for submissions to the library will be available on the website. The Video Screening Library and viewing stations can be found in the Quebec & York Rooms, the Radisson Portman SAS Conference Centre.
